How to Drill using Drill-Line™ Drill Bits

The key to successful drilling is to maintain a light pressure and use high revolutions.
- We recommend a drill speed of 1500-2500 rpm
- A hand held battery drill is ideal rather than a mains operated machine. Firstly because it is much more maneuverable and secondly for safety - you will be using a water spray.
These diamond core bits must be kept cool while drilling.
This means constant application of the water coolant throughout the drilling operation.Allowing the bit to heat will reduce useful life and can completely destroy it.
- Make sure that he drill bit tip is kept cool and lubricated with water, failure to do so will result in a reduced performance and drill bit life time.
- Only use light pressure, the drill bit will cut at it's own pace, excessive pressure will not reduce drilling time and will damage the bit
- As drilling proceeds, reduce pressure from time to time and spray the hole area. This will clear accumulated dust particles around the cutting edge and allows hole cutting to progress more efficiently.
- After each hole is complete remove the material core from the bit by using a nail or similar implement. Do not attempt to remove the core by tapping the cutting edge against a hard surface.
- Offer the bit at a forty five degree angle to the tile to score the tile using the edge of the drill bit.
- Then gradually change the position ninety degrees and continue.
